While it's not feasible to just up and quit my day job right now, maybe pursuing a little side business/job that utilizes my interests will be a little therapeutic and help bring in more money (weddings and moving aren't cheap!). While it's only been a dream or thought, after reading your post I'm feeling like I'm being told to give it a try. What's the worst thing that could happen? This is exactly something that’s been on my mind a lot lately, especially with all sorts of big changes going on in my life. We both have marketable skills and some of our hobbies could easily turn into businesses (engineering, carpentry, bellydance, GF homebrewing, canning, pickling and cordial making). We've also decided to wait on that a bit because we don't want our lives to turn into all working all the time just yet. We're putting just about every extra cent into debt repayment, and ideally, we would like to wait until we're debt free. At the rate we are going, we could be completely debt free in three years. I've bookmarked those references you mentioned.
