We never seriously considered selling our house ourselves, but at the very start of all this I remember thinking that it was a bummer to pay thousands of dollars to a realtor. So many people think they are being smart by going it alone, or that realtors are out to scam them, but a realtor who is good at his/her job can help save people a lot of money and headaches. I was in real estate for a year until I realized I didn't like sales at all, but I learned a lot, and if we were buying a home or investment property, I'd most definitely hire a well-qualified realtor. This is why there is value in a good realtor.
