Creative! I like it. It's green too, since you are recycling. Now if re-using the dead dishwasher were just as easy..

Thanks for the tip Peg! So I guess my drawer full of pens was a good thing after all :) The cutlery holder turned pen holder is now on its side - hopefully my pens will last a long time!

I just wanted to throw out there that is is generally recommended to store scrapbooking pens on their sides vs. their ends so if you can turn the basket on its side, you might get a little longer life out of your pens. Love the repurposing though!

Thanks Sheri! The switch to veganism has been pretty easy. What we've come up with is that we're vegan at home, but flexible if we eat at someone else's house. I don't want to make a host feel uncomfortable (either by us not eating, or by having to come up with vegan options for us). It's not really a big deal, since we only eat at other people's houses once or twice a month.

Using that old dishwasher cutlery basket as a pen holder? Brilliant! What a great idea! I'm going to check Freecycle for one; that would surely help out in our homeschool-room.

Thanks for the compliments about my food pics. If you lived closer, I'd invite you and Frugalbaby over to eat :)

How is your switch to veganism going? That's great that your hubby was willing to go vegan, and I hope it's been a smooth transition for you. Since you already ate so well (and nearly vegan) I'm hoping the diet shift has been a breeze.

Your financial goals are impressive. Paying off your mortgage early is an excellent goal! You inspire me -- I get so much out of reading your website!
