Green Me - no, but I've heard of Sunflower market too. My ideal store would be just a big room full of organic produce and bulk items, lots of stuff to make meals from scratch. I don't need any fancy processed or packaged food. I don't need organic cereal in the shape of little bunnies for several dollars a box (saw that today).
But my husband encouraged me to look on the bright side. The store does have a lot of good stuff that we can't get at the other neighborhood grocery stores - stuff like flax oil, hemp protein powder, organic vegetable broth, goat milk, etc. It's a good addition to our grocery options, I just had higher hopes. But I'm over myself now :)

Is the new market a Sunflower by any chance? They started in CO and are a total hoax. Makes me grumpy, cause my hood really needs a health food store (have to drive to the one on the other side of town). And, they are threatening to open a Sunflower right next door to us, which means Whole Foods or anyone independent wouldn't bother...I hope, I hope that it doesn't go through!

Also, thanks for helping out the Tanzanian student!

When I was in school, there was a Tanzanian Ph.D. student studying under one of my profs. He went back to Tanzania and ended up directing Gombe national park, making a huge difference in his own country! So, not only may this young man be lifted out of poverty, but his success may translate to the success of those around him, so I wouldn't necessarily see it as only helping one person!
