Carnival Of All Things Eco

The Carnival of All Things Eco is up at Focus Organic. Check out these great shopping bags made out of old sweatshirts at Lu-n-Am. Love them! We have cloth bags and we’re getting much better about remembering to take them to the store. But ours are very boring compared with these!

Highlight Health has a great article about the upside to high food prices. As fuel costs rise, it gets more expensive to truck food all over the country, and processing food becomes more expensive because factories tend to run on fossil fuels. But this makes locally produced food more affordable in comparison. Yes, it’s more expensive to buy organic food, but if it just has to be brought a few miles to a farmers’ market, the transportation costs are far lower. Not to mention that it tastes better and is more fun to pick out.
