Jenny - I was suprised to find the instructions on the Maya website too, but I'm glad they were there :) The sling we got on craigslist is great, but he's quickly outgrowing it. He still fits in it, but it has very little back support for the wearer, and isn't comfortable to wear for long stretches anymore. The one we made is totally adjustable and has a wide band of fabric around the back so it distributes the weight better. I just walked for 90 minutes with him in the sling (nursing for about half the time under the tail of the sling), and was comfortable the whole time. We still use the other sling for quick walks, since it's easier to put on - no adjusting needed. But for wearing him around the house, and for long walks, the adjustable one is awesome. And I love that I can nurse him while I'm walking.

That's awesome that you were able to make your own -- I'm kind of surprised that Maya themselves gave out the instructions, given how much their products cost.

How is the sling that you made different than the one you got on Craigslist earlier?

Thanks everyone! Nope, the pants aren't itchy at all. I think something about shrinking them makes them not itchy, because all of the sweaters we have are non-itchy :) And the baby doesn't seem to mind them at all (I had read that some babies are allergic to wool and get hives, but our baby seems just fine in his wool pants)

You are so inspiring! I love the pants and think it's awesome that you were able to make your own ring sling :)

I was just wondering, is it an itchy sweater you used? Sorry, they are so cute but I have a thing about sweaters. Probably something from my childhood. I just love reading about you and your family. Keep up the good work.

Cute pants! My mom is a very talented seamstress, and this is making me think I better start learning how to sew.
