I think it's a brilliant idea - esp. since you only have $26k left. "Only" haha... I say that cuz we did the exact same thing (to avoid pmi), except ours is at $62k - yikes! we've saved $200/month now tha interest rats are going down, plus our refinancing, but hopefully we'll be able to keep paying it off down the road. our wedding, and the fiancee going back to school may prevent that for now, but you gotta have goals, right?
