Carnival of Personal Finance

The 96th Carnival of Personal Finance is up at All Financial Matters for your reading pleasure.  Since we’ve been doing so much work on our house lately (with more to come, including a new roof and exterior paint job…) I was drawn to the five steps to get your home in shape for summer.  Seems that we have a lot of work to do!  I also liked the post about getting a big tax refund.  We really tried hard to make accurate estimated payments in 2006 (self-employed), and now we’re getting a total of $600 back from the state and federal govt.  I have a friend who just got back $7000.  She was stoked, but I’m more stoked – getting estimated payments within $300 (federal) of what you owe when your income fluctuates is no easy feat.  And we kept all the money we should have during the year.

JLP, thanks for hosting.  Happy reading everyone!
